Pulse On Demand — Weekly Football & Baseball Drops

Client: Pulse Trading Cards
Role: Card architecture, parallels, autograph layouts, production

Pulse On Demand is a live-release trading-card program built around real-time performances, debuts, and milestones. A modular system that supports weekly drops across football and baseball while maintaining a premium, collectible identity.

Project Overview

The On Demand program needed a unified visual language that could be updated quickly from week to week. I created a core template that adapts across single-player commemoratives, debuts, milestone cards, and dual signatures, with built-in support for parallels, serial numbering, and autographs.

Milestone Cards
Milestone cards use a darker palette and subtle texture to signal key achievements. The layout keeps the autograph zone clean while using angular elements and patterning to create a more refined, big-moment feel.

My Contributions

  • Program-wide visual system and base template design

  • Parallel color and serial-numbering strategy

  • Autograph window integration for single and dual signatures

Commemorative Cards
The commemorative template is the backbone of the On Demand program. It features a bold border treatment, soft gradient background, and a clear hierarchy for player name, team, and serial numbering. The design is built to scale across different color parallels while keeping the overall look cohesive.

  • Typography system for names, positions, teams, and numbering

  • Photo isolation, cropping, and composition for high-energy poses

  • Production-ready files for rapid weekly releases and marketing imagery

Debut Cards
Debut cards spotlight a player’s first appearance at the next level. The layout emphasizes the player name, debut date, and team location, with a subtle gradient fade that keeps focus on the photography and signature area.

Dual Signatures
For dual signatures, I built a horizontal layout that balances two player images with dedicated autograph windows. Jersey numbers, names, and signatures each have their own space, ensuring legibility and avoiding overlap while still feeling compact and premium.

Parallels & Serial Numbering

The On Demand system integrates color parallels and serial numbering directly into the frame. From purple and gold borders to low-numbered and 1/1 versions, each variation is instantly readable while still living inside the same design language. Making it easy for collectors to identify rarity at a glance and for Pulse to expand the checklist over time.

Design Approach

Because On Demand releases move quickly, the design system had to be both flexible and efficient. Every element—from the autograph window to the team location tag—was built to be reusable across sports, teams, and player types without losing that “event” feeling.
